The Air Force s Brand-New F-15EX Fighter Is About to Appear in its First Major Exercise

The U.S. Air Force is sending its new F-15EX fourth-plus generation fighter to participate in a large-scale exercise in and around Alaska next month.
The 53rd Wing out of Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, announced Thursday that the F-15EX, now known as the Eagle II, will conduct operational tests while flying in Exercise Northern Edge 21, a joint Indo-Pacific Command drill incorporating approximately 15,000 service members from each branch, multiple Navy ships and roughly 240 aircraft.

Garrett, commander of U.S. Army Forces Command, announced 13 officers and noncommissioned officers will be disciplined as a result of an internal Army investigation report. “I directed this investigation to identify what happened and to find areas where we needed to improve across our command,” Garrett said in a statement. “We can and must hold ourselves accountable, learn and improve across all our Army units. To do any less breaks trust with our people and the American public.”

Travis’ reserve wing focal point of multiple-service Nexus Dawn exercise

The base’s reserve unit, the 349th Air Mobility Wing, took the lead this week on Nexus Dawn, a three-day exercise Monday through Wednesday that brought together multiple services as well as airmen from five other Air Force bases.
The exercise took place across the western seaboard. The aims were to test and improve the training, equipment and combat readiness of the units, which also included members of the Air National Guard and U.S. Marine Corps.

The Army has fired the commander of Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington after the completion of an investigation into undisclosed allegations against him.
Col. Christopher Warner, who has been suspended from the job since Oct. 5, was officially relieved March 1 by Lt. Gen. Randy George, commander of I Corps, Lt. Col. Neil Penttila said in an Army statement.
