At around 11.45am yesterday morning, police officers raced to the scene of a crash between a White Ford Mondeo and a silver Peugeot moped. Officers taped off part of the road for most of the day. The rider of the moped, a man in his 60s, was left with serious chest injuries and is still in hospital. Police said they do not have an update on his condition. Investigating officer, PC Matthew Hunt, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to please come forward.
Investigators say the Volkswagen Caddy probably has ‘significant’ damage and a missing wing mirror. The van crashed with another car on Grovelands, Kidlington, at around 4.50pm yesterday (December 22). Instead of stopping, the driver then crashed into the house leaving ‘substantial damage’ and made a getaway. Nobody was injured. PC Jonathan Simpkins, from the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based in Bicester, said: “I am seeking information from anybody that may have seen a VW Caddy van in the Kidlington area at around the time of this incident. “The vehicle is likely to have significant front-end damage, a missing passenger wing mirror and a dirty or obscured rear number plate.
Motorcyclist left with serious injuries after crash A MOTORCYCLIST was left with a fractured knee and wrist after a serious crash. At around 4.30pm on December 13, a white 125cc motorbike was riding on Lower Cherwell Street towards Upper Cherwell Street in Banbury when it crashed with a grey BMW 3 Series that was pulling out of the junction of Canal Street onto Lower Cherwell Street. The biker, a 23-year-old man, was raced to hospital with serious injuries but has since been discharged. The driver of the BMW stopped at the scene. Investigating officer PC Liam Calvert of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Bicester, said: “This collision occurred on a stretch of road which is usually busy at that time of day, and I believe there would have been lots of vehicles on the road.
The crash happened in Stone, a small village near Aylesbury An 18-year-old man has been left with serious injuries and remains in a serious condition in hospital, following a car accident near Aylesbury. At around 9.30pm on Monday, December 21, a silver Volkswagen Golf was travelling towards the town through Stone when it left a carriageway, mounted a pavement, and crashed into a bus stop. The driver of the car was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he currently remains. There was nobody at the bus stop at the time. Investigating officer Sergeant Linford Baxter of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit based at Milton Keynes, said: “I am appealing to anybody who was in the area last night and witnessed this collision to please get in touch with police.
But now police have confirmed that despite the ‘best efforts from medical professionals’ she has passed away. The driver of the Mini was left with minor injuries and has since been discharged from hospital. No arrests have been made.
