Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC in Gauteng Lebogang Maile has welcomed the report by the Gauteng municipalities committee.
Maile established the committee in 2019 when the auditor-general revealed that 9 out of 11 municipalities in the province were at risk of being dysfunctional.
The committee believes that we need to have dedicated vision for each region, because each region is unique, each region has its own challenges, so we must not use the one-size-fits-all approach.
We will be doing that, and we have already started thinking about it, through our human settlement plans.
