#CASE you missed it. Sheriff’s Office “Chicken Crossing The Road”
We’re no closer to finding out why the chicken crossed the road, but the last time he did caused chaos.
The Kootenai County Sheriff s Office took several emergency calls on Tuesday about a chicken crossing a road. The road turned out to be Highway 95 and very treacherous thanks to an in progress snowstorm.
Drivers were trying to avoid the misplaced fowl and each other is slick conditions. No humans were injured. Ultimately the chicken was able to be captured is fine. He’s not clucking about
why he wanted to cross the road though.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Handled the following notable calls for 2/16/21 Day Shift handled the following notable calls: A Deputy checked out on a suspicious vehicle at the east bound Huetter Rest area where he made contact with a male subject. The male was arrested for his outstanding warrants from Bonner County.

Northern Idaho woman dies after falling through ice on lake

HARRISON, Idaho (AP) Authorities say a northern Idaho woman died Tuesday after falling through the ice on Lake Coeur d’Alene.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office says emergency workers received a report Tuesday afternoon that someone had gone onto the ice, likely to rescue a dog or another animal, and fell through. Witnesses used a canoe and ropes to try to rescue the woman, but were unsuccessful. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office dive team pulled 77-year-old Leslie G. Daniels from the water a short time later. Daniels was unconscious and could not be revived.
