Covington Independent Public Schools and Bellevue Independent Schools are requiring all students and staff to wear masks in the 2021-2022 school year, regardless of vaccinations, officials said.
In its newly released reopening plan, Covington Schools announced that out of an abundance of caution, all K-12 students and staff will be required to wear masks in buildings throughout the day regardless of vaccination status. Students will also be required to wear masks on school buses at all times. This could change depending on state and local recommendations, the plan reads.
Bellevue Schools also released a reopening plan on Friday. The plan encourages all eligible students and staff 12 years and older to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
