(AP) - Ball Corp. plans to build a new plant in southern Kentucky that will employ about 200 people making tops for aluminum cans, the company said. The Colorado-based company announced plans on Thursday to build a 450,000-square-foot (41,806-square-meter) plant on a 40-acre (16.2 hectares) site in Bowling Green, the Daily News reported. Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority documents show Ball subsidiary Ball Metal Beverage Container Corp. is investing $305 million to build and equip the facility. TOP STORIES

Taica Cubic Printing Kentucky LLC, an automotive supplier that specializes in decorating 3D objects, is investing $4.4 million in a project that includes injection molding capacity. The company, a unit of Tokyo-based Taica Corp., will add 25,000 square feet to its Winchester plant and purchase five injection molding machines over two phases, according to a news release from Gov. Andy Beshear. The added space will allow for in-house production of substrates currently purchased from other sources. The Winchester facility started production in 2013 and currently employs 44 people with an average wage of more than $26 per hour, according to the release.
