Martha (Cunningham) Quarles, age 87, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on May 8, 2021, just before Motherâs Day after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Robbie Bridges Cunningham, her husband and our dad and PaPaw, Charles Quarles, brothers Hershell, Albert, and Alfred (PeeWee) Cunningham, and her special friend Remus Harris. Police have released a photo of one of the suspects in connection to three robberies Wednesday night in Christian County.
Hopkinsville Police say just before 11 pm, 44-year-old Jefferey Karasiewicz, of Hopkinsville, was delivering a pizza to a home on Foxfield Road when he was shot in the arm by a juvenile attempting to steal his car.
Karasiewicz was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center by ambulance then flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Investigators say the juvenile who shot Karasiewicz was also involved in two other robberies that happened earlier in the night in Oak Grove.

The local service is normally a large event that attracts a crowd for a public ceremony and wreath laying ceremony. Events were altered this year because of COVID-19 the need to avoid large gatherings and maintain social distancing.
The wreaths are provided each year by donations to the Gold Star Wives chapters and other groups around the country by donations from local organizations such as the American Legion, VFW, Disabled American Veterans and others.
Similar holiday wreath laying ceremonies take place at cemeteries across the country on the Saturday leading up to Christmas.
