Five new trustees elected to 2021 United Way Board

SIDNEY Ryan Maier, superintendent, Hardin-Houston Schools; Aditya P. Sakhalkar, director, Applied Mechanics and Reliability Engineering, Emerson; Mark Seery, vice president of operations, Airstream; Greg Snyder, assistant principal, Sidney City Schools; and Katy Zimpfer, human resources business partner, Emerson; have been elected to the Shelby County United Way Board of Trustees beginning Jan. 1, 2021.
Maier, a resident of Houston, joins the Student United Way Committee. He is a graduate of Houston High School, Wilmington College where he earned his Bachelor’s of Education, and his Master’s in Administration from the University of Dayton. He is a member of the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Men’s Group and a Houston youth softball coach. He is married to Gina, and they have three children.
Fosser named interim director of Kane health department

Kathy Fosser has been named as the transitional interim executive director for the Kane County Department of Health Department.
The Kane County Board has approved Fosser s appointment after the recent retirement of Executive Director Barbara Jeffers.
As interim executive director, I am proud that we have a highly skilled and competent team that continues to care for our Kane residents through tirelessly working to address this exhausting pandemic, Fosser said in a statement.
Fosser began her municipal public servant career in 1985. During her 22 years at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, she was promoted in various roles while attending night school at College of DuPage, Aurora University, and Keller Graduate School of Management.
