Dublin-headquartered aircraft lessor AerCap has confirmed that it’s in talks with Gecas owner GE for a potential deal that would create by far the biggest aircraft leasing company in the world. AerCap, headed by chief executive Gus Kelly, and Gecas are already the two biggest players in the global aircraft leasing sector. “In relation to recent media commentary, AerCap confirms that discussions are ongoing between the company and General Electric with respect to GE’s Gecas business,” said AerCap in a statement to the stock market. “The outcome of those discussions has yet to be determined, and there can be no guarantee that an agreement will be reached or on the terms of any agreement,” it added.
