Numbers for both episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT were up this week, although Dynamite was still ahead with 747,000 viewers and a 0.31 rating (400,000 viewers), compared to NXT’s 713,000 viewers and 0.16 rating (202,000 viewers).
Due to the President’s Day holiday, full details were not available, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a more detailed look at the ratings including quarter to quarter. Dynamite was up 0.8% in viewers and 6.4% in 18-49, while NXT was up 27.8% and 27%, respectively. Dynamite doubled NXT in every demo except 35-49, which was close. Of note, last year at this time, NXT had 2.3 times the viewers in women 18-34 than AEW did, but AEW has 4.3 times more viewers in that same demographic as NXT now.

The finals for the men s and women s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classics will both be set following tonight s show. In the men s Dusty Classic, both semifinal matches are taking place tonight. Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher are facing The Grizzled Young Veterans, while MSK are taking on Legado Del Fantasma s Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde.
Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell are facing Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon in a women s Dusty Classic semifinal match tonight. The winning team will advance to face Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez in the finals.
Both Dusty Classic finals are taking place at TakeOver: Vengeance Day.
As we previously reported, AEW Beach Break defeated NXT in the ratings yet again, and improved on last week’s numbers by 90,000 viewers. Dynamite had 844,000 viewers and a 0.32 rating (408,000 viewers) compared to NXT’s 610,000 viewers and 0.15 rating (197,000 viewers). NXT finished just outside of the top fifty (at #51), so some of the numbers are not available. Head-to-head prior to NXT’s overrun, they had 609,000 viewers and 195,000 in 18-49. Dynamite placed third, beating the NBA head-to-head (701,000 viewers, 0.23 rating) on ESPN and the NHL game on NBC Sports Network (633,000 viewers, 0.18 rating). It was only behind MTV’s
