CADIZ The village of Cadiz is hoping to secure around $600,000 in grant funding in order to install new sidewalks along Lincoln Avenue. Cadiz Village Council signed a resolution to move forward with an application to participate in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program, or TAP, during Thursday’s evening meeting.

Following the meeting, Mayor John Migliore said the $2.3 million project is crucial to provide the village with clean drinking water and also to increase water production capacity. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency prompted the upgrades after the village’s water source, Tappan Lake, tested positive for small amounts of cyanotoxins, which are produced by harmful algal blooms.

Cadiz thankful for spring repairs | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Writer CADIZ The Christopher Spring is flowing again for local residents to enjoy, and village leaders said they are grateful to the owners for making the necessary repairs. Cadiz Village Council took a moment to thank Emily Wagner, owner of the spring, for making the repairs to the community staple during council’s Thursday evening meeting. The spring’s water flow ceased in mid-October, leaving many residents who enjoyed drinking the crystal clear water concerned. Wagner previously said it was the first time the water had stopped flowing in more than a century. After a few weeks of repairs, the spring is once again producing water.
