NJ 39TH Karlito Almeda is one of six total candidates hoping to land an Assembly seat in New Jersey s 39th District, and one of two Democrats running.
Almeda, 26, a Mahwah resident, is a graduate of Ramapo College, and a Deputy Legislative Director for Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg.
He hopes to win the seat, paving a path forward for not only the young people who are entering a job market facing one of the worst economic downturns of our time, but to also address community problems across the district.

The AFLW trade period is closing in. The times and dates haven’t been locked in, but are expected to be announced following key AFL meetings in early May.
Despite that, clubs are already deep in discussions with players about what the future holds and rumours are rife.
Putting specifics aside, here’s what all 14 AFLW teams need from the upcoming trade period.
More firepower inside 50
Erin Phillips once again was Adelaide’s most dangerous player inside 50 this year, kicking 14 goals.
Jake Stouch said he did everything he could after allegedly witnessing a superior harass his friend and co-worker in the Department of Children and Families with inappropriate pet names and conversations about sex and her looks.
He told his superior, a fellow investigator named Ian Palumbo, to “immediately stop sexually harassing” the woman, according to court records.
Then he filed a complaint with the state. He even tried reaching Gov. Phil Murphy’s office, but said he got no response.
Stouch then faced retaliation that ultimately led to his firing and set him on an odyssey in which he lost his home and unemployment benefits in the COVID-19 pandemic, he said.
