Thursday Morning COVID-19 Update According to Wednesday’s (March 31) update from Catawba County Public Health, 15% of the residents in Catawba County have received the COVID-19 vaccination. Two coronavirus-associated deaths were reported, raising the count to 295. 26 new cases of the virus were reported, increasing the total to 17,819, and there were 15 people hospitalized with COVID-19. Ten new cases of the coronavirus were reported Wednesday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 8,968, with 140 deaths. Seven Caldwell County residents were hospitalized with COVID-19. Five new cases of the virus were reported in Burke County, raising the total to 9,707, with 147 deaths. There were two people hospitalized.
