The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has issued a notice over the temporary closure of a section of Peponi Road.
In a notice on February 23, the roads agency cautioned motorists over ongoing road works on the road that would take three months to complete. There will be traffic disruption along Peponi Road section starting from Tuesday, March 2, 2021 to Wednesday, June 2, 2021, KURA stated.

The construction works involve installing a box culvert, which is a bridge-like structure designed to allow vehicle or pedestrian traffic to cross over the waterway while allowing adequate passage for the water, along Peponi Road.

Nairobi residents living in informal settlements will now access water from boreholes free of charge.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) and Athi Water Works Development Agency to ensure that residents have access to water at the 193 recently sunk boreholes in Nairobi.
“As the boreholes continue to function, residents should not be charged a single coin to get water. If the house tap runs dry, you are allowed to walk to the boreholes and get water free of charge,” said the president during the commissioning of two water community projects in Soweto Kayole.
