âGenesee County has enough vaccines to meet the demand, and officials are reporting that the number of daily vaccinations is slowing down.
âAshley Herbig, emergency preparedness coordinator at the Genesee County Health Department, said, âVaccine distribution is experiencing a decrease in recipients at this time. A number of factors can contribute to the decline that is being experienced in other areas and not just specifically Genesee County.â
âAs of Thursday, May 6, 250,563 vaccines have been administered in Genesee County, with 146,881 first shots. Approximately 44 percent of eligible people have received one dose, and 31 percent are fully vaccinated.
âCapt. Richard Cronkright from the Genesee County Sheriffâs Office said the number of people coming to vaccine clinics has been decreasing.

FLINT, MI The Clio Road Pharmacy is offering two types of COVID-19 vaccines at a no-appointment-necessary clinic this week.
The clinic is scheduled for 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at the business, located at 4902 Clio Road.

FLINT, MI Gov. Gretchen Whitmer visited the community COVID-19 vaccination clinic at a church on Flint’s notrth side and lauded its efforts for providing more opportunities for people to get their doses.
Whitmer visited Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2120 Saginaw St., on Thursday, April 22 to observe ongoing COVID-19 vaccination efforts and ensure that safe, effective vaccines are being distributed efficiently and equitably, according to a press release from the governor’s office.
“This is really a miracle of modern medicine that we have these safe effective vaccines that are now accessible to just about everyone in all communities,” Whitmer said in a press briefing at the church. “We want to encourage people to do that, because that’s the best way to stay out of the hospital and it’s the best way to keep your family safe. âConcerns have been raised in recent years regarding the presence of arsenic in our groundwater.
âArsenic is a common, naturally occurring element in the Earthâs crust, which comes in two forms: organic and inorganic. Organic arsenic is not found in groundwater, however, elevated levels of inorganic arsenic, (the more harmful form to humans), have been found in the groundwater in some wells throughout Michigan, including Fenton Township.
âArsenic is a regulated component in public water systems, (including schools), and privately owned community well systems. Historically, these public and community water supplies were required to have arsenic concentrations below 50 parts per billion (ppb); that level has now been reduced to 10 ppb as of 2006.
