Anderson was killed in June 2020 during the Black Lives Matter protest in the wake of the George Floyd murder
He is said to have squared up to rival Marcel Long, who is accused of firing the shots moments later. Long remains at large
Dan Nolte, a spokesperson for the Seattle City Attorney s Office, said the agency intends to investigate these brought claims and will defend the City in this matter.
Anderson, whose full name is Horace Lorenzo Anderson, was shot June 20 in the Capitol Hill Organized Protest, or CHOP, zone and transported by volunteer medics to Harborview Medical Center, where he died, the Seattle Fire Department said at the time.
King County prosecutors on Aug. 5 charged 18-year-old Marcel Long with first-degree murder in the case, accusing him of fatally shooting Anderson and fleeing the state. A warrant has been issued for Long’s arrest.

SEATTLE (CN) The mother of a teenager who was shot and killed in a Seattle neighborhood taken over by protesters has sued the city for failing to provide prompt medical aid to her son.
Lorenzo Anderson, 19, was shot in an area known as the Capitol Hill Organized Protest or “CHOP” on June 20, 2020. An ambulance was a block away, but refused to enter the “no-cop” zone, according to the complaint.
