Cape Fear Valley Health system announces new visitor restrictions
Cape Fear Valley Health system announced Monday that all their locations including hospitals and outpatient clinics will be closed completely to visitors until further notice.
According to a news release, the measure was taken to protect staff and patients from the risk of COVID-19.
Here are a few exceptions:
• Labor & Delivery: Laboring mothers may have one support person/coach for the duration of their stay. If the support person/coach leaves the premises for any reason, he or she will not be allowed back into the building.
• Pediatric patients: A legal minor may have one parent or guardian with them.

On Tuesday, more local hospitals expect to receive their first shipments of COVID-19 vaccines, including Cape Fear Valley Health and UNC Health.

If all goes as planned, Cape Fear Valley Health will take delivery of an initial shipment of the coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday and will be putting it into the arms of health care workers by the end of the day.
