Security guard shot in dispute outside Fayetteville Phat Daddy s

A security guard was in critical condition Friday after being shot twice late Thursday in the parking lot of a Raeford Road bar, police said. Charles Jackson Jr., 50, was with other security guards breaking up a fight in the parking lot of Phat Daddy s Sports Bar & Grille, 3406 Raeford Road, when shots rang out and Jackson was hit about 11 p.m., according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department. Jackson was taken by ambulance to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition, according to a news release Friday morning. The shooter fled in a white Mercedes SUV-style vehicle, police said. The suspect was involved in an altercation in the parking lot with other patrons that had been refused entry into the business, the release said.

Fayetteville police seek suspects in Motel 6 shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) The Fayetteville Police Department s Aggravated Assault Unit is requesting the public s help identifying suspects in a shooting March 5 at a Motel 6. On that day, officers were dispatched to the Motel 6 at 1922 Cedar Creek Road at 1:46 p.m. after a shots-fired call. While officers were en route, they were told a gunshot victim was being taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in a private vehicle. The victim, Kevin Brewington, 30, had been shot eight times. He is still recovering from his injuries, police said Thursday. Police said their investigation has revealed that the suspects arrived in a silver or gray Nissan Altima. A woman got out and went into a nearby convenience store while two men got out of the car and walked to the motel.
