Police, electric company respond to downed power lines in Cape Coral

Cape Coral Police Department and Lee County Electric Cooperative responded to downed power lines that caused thousands of outages Wednesday night.
According to CCPD, police were at the intersection of Hancock Bridge Parkway and Cultural Park Boulevard, where the power lines went down. It caused more than 3,000 customers to lose power.
The LCEC outage map showed power was restored to almost 100% customers in the area Wednesday night.
The cause of the downed power lines is unknown at this time.

Woman saved after being stuck in canal for 9 hours in Cape Coral

Cape Coral Fire Department and Cape Coral Police Department responded to a senior woman in a canal Tuesday.
According to CCFD, crews were in the 900 block of Archer Parkway E, where a woman says she went into a canal around 11 a.m. to get her dog and was unable to get out of the water for roughly 9 hours.
Firefighters eventually responded to the woman and assisted her from the canal safely. She was then taken to the hospital for treatment.
