Pep Guardiola heaped praise on Ferran Torres after his hat-trick helped Manchester City to victory against Newcastle United.
Newcastle took the lead against the run of play in the first half. Emil Krafth rose highest from a corner to head in past Scott Carson.
Jonjo Shelvey hit the crossbar with a free-kick shortly after. Pep Guardiola’s men responded well to going behind though as they scored twice in three minutes to go ahead. Joao Cancelo got the first as his deflected shot found the net past Martin Dubravka.

Ferran Torres bagged a hat-trick as Manchester City defeated Newcastle United 4-3 in Premier League action on Friday night.
Pep Guardiola went for a surprise between the sticks, handing a start to 35-year-old Scott Carson while Kyle Walker, Eric Garcia and Bernardo Silva also started.
The champions looked to bag an early goal in the contest, with Gabriel Jesus firing just wide of Matt Dubravka s goal from the edge of the box on seven minutes.
The breakthrough arrived on 25 minutes but for the home side, as Jonjo Shelvey s corner found Emil Krafth who sent a powerful header past Carson.
