Leeds Stall Man City s Title March, Last-gasp Liverpool End Anfield Losing Streak By Steven GRIFFITHS
04/10/21 AT 2:48 PM
Manchester City s march to the Premier League title stalled on Saturday as 10-man Leeds beat the runaway leaders 2-1, while Liverpool ended a six-game losing streak at Anfield as Trent Alexander-Arnold s late strike sealed a 2-1 win over Aston Villa.
Chelsea moved back ahead of Liverpool in the battle for a place in next season s Champions League, though, as the Blues thrashed Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park.
City are counting down to their third title in four seasons, but Stuart Dallas s stoppage-time strike leaves them still needing 11 points from their last six games to clinch the crown.

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper was sent off at the Etihad Stadium following a reckless challenge on Gabriel Jesus in today s early kick-off.
The Brazilian beat Cooper to the ball as he ran down he left on the stroke of half-time and although he appeared to get a touch on the ball, the Scotland international was late on the City No.9 with a tackle that was high and out of control.
Initially, Andre Marriner had given a yellow card for the foul but after watching the incident back on the VAR screen, upgraded to red and gave Cooper his marching orders.
Dallas double sees 10-man Leeds shock Man City Manchester (United Kingdom) (AFP) – Manchester City suffered just a fourth Premier League defeat of the season as 10-man Leeds United shocked the runaway leaders thanks to Stuart Dallas’s double in a 2-1 win at the Etihad on Saturday.
Dallas opened the scoring three minutes before half-time, but hope of a famous win for Marcelo Bielsa’s men seemed to have disappeared when captain Liam Cooper was shown a straight red card in first-half stoppage time.
The visitors withstood a City bombardment until Ferran Torres equalised 14 minutes from time.
But Leeds still summoned the energy to pose a threat on the counter-attack and gained their reward when Dallas slotted below Ederson.
