There has been depressingly little to get excited about for Arsenal fans this season.
The results have been bad, the football even worse and almost every player in Mikel Arteta s squad has been drastically underperforming.
Any hope Arsenal supporters had of the drudgery subsiding were seemingly extinguished when Gabriel Jesus put Manchester City 1-0 up inside two minutes of Tuesday evening s Carabao Cup quarter final.
That didn t take long! ⏱
Manchester City are ahead within three minutes, as Jesus nods it past Runarsson. This could be a long night for Arsenal.

Manchester City increased the pressure on Mikel Arteta as the League Cup holders powered into the semi-finals with a 4-1 demolition of troubled Arsenal on Tuesday.
City ensured it will be a miserable Christmas for beleaguered Arsenal boss Arteta by condemning his side to a fourth defeat in their last six games in all competitions.
Gabriel Jesus took just three minutes to put City ahead at the Emirates Stadium and although Alexandre Lacazette equalised, it was another night of torture for Arteta.
Manchester City would be looking to stretch their overall dominance in the Carabao Cup competition as they make the trip to face Arsenal.
It would be a quarter-final match between the two EPL giants as the Emirates Stadium bubbles with a couple of characters on the occasion.
The defending champions have won the trophy in each of the last three seasons and five times within 7 years.
And another success in this competition would see them equal Liverpool’s record as the most successful side in the EFL Cup.
Pep Guardiola would be in a positive mood as he gears up to face Mikel Arteta in this match.
