Great-grandmother gets fully vaccinated on 100th birthday

The mom and daughter were vaccinated at Camden County Vaccination Center at Camden County College Wednesday morning. Halleujah, feeling good, the centenarian said.
Local officials put on the celebration in the observation area. Her family shared pictures of her 99th birthday celebration right before the country went on lockdown. After a challenging year of isolation, Saxon s family said the vaccine is a saving grace, and they look forward to reuniting. It opens up our options to see more people, to see family members because my siblings live in Boston and Maryland, her daughter Cathy Saxon Jenkins said.

A New Jersey woman is celebrating her 100th birthday in a very special way.
CAMDEN COUNTY, N.J. - A New Jersey woman celebrated her 100th birthday in a very special way.
Ethernell Saxon’s, a Cherry Hill resident, received her second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccination at the Camden County Vaccination Center. Ethernell will be celebrating a momentous occasion, the fact that she is two weeks away from 95% immunity from COVID, and that she has taken 100 trips around the sun, said County Commissioner Jonathan Young. Hallelujah, Ethernell said when asked about how it felt to get her shot. She credited living to 100 years thanks to good food and good times .
Thousands of South Jersey residents are receiving COVID-19 vaccinations thanks to the volunteer service of Rutgers University‒Camden nursing faculty and students who have been on the front line of this massive effort since New Jersey began receiving doses of the vaccine in January.
Nearly 400 Rutgers School of Nursing‒Camden students are assisting at the Camden County vaccination center in Blackwood, checking in community members, answering questions, and administering the Moderna vaccine.
Johnnet Reeves hopes her decision to be inoculated will inspire other people to get vaccinated.
Most of the Rutgers–Camden nursing students had been taking virtual classes since the pandemic began, but now they have an opportunity to help contain the virus’s spread, while getting hands-on experience and fulfilling clinical rotation and volunteer requirements.
