UPDATED 12:20 p.m. | McLean County health officials say the rate of new coronavirus cases has dropped in recent weeks, but they are calling for more vigilance as another holiday approaches.
The McLean County Health Department (MCHD) reported 75 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Tuesday, while an additional 227 patients have recovered.

Bloomington-Normal hospitals report greater demand for beds in the last 24 hours; 83% are currently in use, including 88% of intensive care beds. However, the number of McLean County residents in the hospital with COVID-19 fell from 28 to 18 since Monday.

Central Illinois Regional Airport and CampusTown Urgent Care announce a collaboration to offer the community and frontline essential airport staff a new location for the CampusTown mobile COVID-19 testing facility. The drive-up testing site will begin operating in the long-term parking lot of the Central Illinois Regional Airport at 3201 CIRA Drive, Bloomington, on Monday, December 21, 2020. Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m.- 5: 00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Preregistration at https://covidtest.center and an appointment are necessary prior to arrival for a test.Â
âThis collaborative approach between CIRA and CampusTown Urgent Care helps to mitigate the pandemic in our community while at the same time serving essential frontline workers at the airport with access to rapid test results in accordance with CDC guidelines.â said Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority Chairman Jay Allen.
