Route 1 Housing Program
In an effort to enhance and preserve the quality of the existing housing supply in the City of Chelsea, the City has premiered the Route 1 Housing Enhancements Program.
The Program provides assistance to homeowners seeking to address sound attenuation, air quality improvements, and exterior repairs. Targeting properties adjacent to Route 1, the Program strives to mitigate the adverse public health effects caused by Route 1, including, but not limited to, noise pollution, degraded air quality, and property damage that occurred during recent state construction.

Mayor Carlo DeMaria is pleased to announce that the City of Everett has partnered with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) to address the digital divide in the community.
Together, the City and MAPC are working to develop a Digital Access and Equity Plan to enhance the digital capacity throughout the City.
“I want to ensure that the entire Everett community has digital access,” said Mayor DeMaria. “By partnering with MAPC, the City of Everett will be able to address the digital divide in the community. I look forward to seeing the results of the assessment and developing an action plan for next steps.”
In an update to the City Council on Monday, Cambridge officials announced that the city is moving forward with its reopening plans, despite an ongoing vaccine supply shortage in the city.
The city officially entered “Phase Three, Step 1” of its reopening process on Monday as case numbers continue to improve, according to City Manager Louis A. DePasquale.
Under the new phase, gyms, museums, and restaurants can operate at 40 percent capacity, up from 25 percent. In addition, libraries can resume contactless pickup. Indoor gatherings, however, are still limited to 10 individuals and outdoor events must remain under 25 people.
New Covid-19 infections have decreased since January, when the positivity rate in Cambridge reached its peak. The city continues to ramp up its testing regime, administering 4,919 tests last week and 31,595 last month, according to DePasquale.

Vaccine Hesitancy
When Yuly Mosca got an email about the COVID-19 vaccine being available, she signed up for an appointment. She is a registered nurse at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) PACE, a program that provides home care for older patients â including those with COVID-19 â who would otherwise be in nursing homes. However, when Mosca got a follow up email with the exact time of her vaccine appointment, she was hesitant.

Medford resident Judy Scribner-Moore offers Yoga for Healthy Aging classes. Until further notice, all classes will meet via Zoom.
