City Dance returns to Cambridge City Park The Daily Jeffersonian City Dance makes it return the the Pavilion at the Cambridge City Park from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. The dance has been an annual event to raise funds to help student athletes with sports participation fees since 2011. However, now it will be a fundraiser for the Gene Ford Foundation.  According to dance organizer Kathy Calvert, after the Cambridge City School District Board of Education did away with the required sports participation fees, she needed to seek out a new project to fund.  Shortly after the fees were removed, the former much loved and admired Cambridge basketball coach Gene Ford passed away, she said.

Applicants must be 16 years of age, have a social security card and provde proof of age. Apply in person from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, at the park office, located at 1101 McFarland Dr.  Lifeguards must be certified or become certified before beginning work. Call the City Park Office with any questions at 740-432-3287. Municipal Court receipts Receipts from the Cambridge Municipal Court criminal division for March 2021 totaled $239,297.45, including $149,776.82 paid to the city, $40,284.09 to the state, $26,633.69 to the county and $22,602.85 in miscellaneous payments.

Visitors Bureau marks tourism week with puzzle activity Staff Report The Cambridge/Guernsey County Visitors and Convention Bureau will mark National Travel and Tourism Week May 2-8. Starting on May 3, residents can stop by the tourist information center pick up instructions and a clue sheet to 18 participating tourism partners to build a puzzle. Participants can visit at least five of the partners during the week to get their puzzle pieces and return them to the information center no later than May 10 to redeem a gift and be entered into a chance to win an overnight in one of our hotels.
