An uninsured driver who narrowly missed a collision with a police officer has been reported for a number of driving offences.
The grey Renault Megane driver reportedly pulled out in front of a Cambridgeshire Constabulary specials officer in Ely on Wednesday (January 6).
Officers ran the car’s number plate through the police system which revealed the car had no insurance – so police pulled the driver over.

“The coordination group declared it a major incident due to the response needed.
“Our Combined Fire Control dealt with more than 600 incidents in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk between the first call on Wednesday afternoon and Christmas Day morning, while also moving crews around the county to maintain cover for other emergencies.

A sports coach, prison officer and pub manager are among 18 new Cambridgeshire Constabulary recruits who have graduated as police officers.
The group, who have given up jobs to become police officers, will now be posted to stations across the county.
They stood in socially-distanced formation at force headquarters in Huntingdon before being inspected by Chief Constable Nick Dean and Assistant Chief Constable Vicki Evans.
Friends and family were unable to attend the passing out parade due to the Covid-19 pandemic but were able to watch remotely.
