A pregnant teenage girl who allegedly subjected a woman to a horrific 12-hour kidnapping has been denied bail.
Latia Henderson, 18, was upbeat as she faced Campbelltown Local Court via video link on Monday, blowing kisses to her grandparents and mother as they showed support from inside the gallery.
But the teenager, who was revealed in court to be 14 weeks pregnant, quickly broke down after the magistrate refused bail, declaring her history of violence a risk to the community.
Police allege Henderson helped her friend Kayley Lee Ketley, 24, carry out a horrific stabbing and kidnapping of Nisha Phillips, 24, at Claymore, Sydney, on February 3.
Crime by Erin Lyons 18th Jan 2021 9:35 AM Five employees of a salmon processing plant in Sydney s southwest have been arrested and charged, accused of swiping 250 tonnes of salmon worth $4 million from their workplace between June and December last year. Police will allege the processing plant s boss contacted authorities in December amid concerns of co-ordinated theft among staff. Detectives were told the company had conducted an internal audit that revealed a significant reduction in the output of product through their processing plant at Ingleburn . About 600kg of salmon was unaccounted for each day. Police will allege in court that the syndicate used their roles within the company to falsely grade premium salmon products as waste, which were then removed from the plant and transported for on-sale or traded for other product, NSW Police said in a statement.
