Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], March 7 (ANI): Union Minister of State for External AffairsV Muraleedharan on Sunday hit out at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan after the latter alleged that smuggling increased after he was appointed, saying that it is the job of the Customs department which comes under Finance Ministry to take care of such matters. The Chief Minister said that smuggling increased after I became MoS in External Affairs, but he should know that it is not my job to look into smuggling cases. This is the job of Customs , which comes under the Union Finance Ministry.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has alleged that central investigative agencies have taken over the election campaigns in the state, where polling will be held on April 6. All I have to say to the BJP and the agencies that dance to their tunes is this - we are not the kind of people you are accustomed to dealing with. We are different. No matter what you do, this land will not blame us. Our lives are open books, and you will soon realise it, Mr Vijayan said today.

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 06: Declaring a war on the BJP-led NDA government over the Customs probe against top CPI(M) leaders in connection with dollar smuggling, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday lashed out at the central agency, alleging it was being used for carrying out a campaign for the BJP and Congress in the poll-bound state.

A day after the Customs, probing the gold smuggling case, claimed key accused Swapna Suresh has made shocking revelations against him, assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan and some ministers on dollar smuggling involving UAE consulate officials, Vijayan said the agency was trying to defame state cabinet members in connection with the case.
