Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan virtually inaugurating a non-beta-lactam injection plant and laying the foundation stone for the construction of an Oncology Pharma Park at the Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (KSDP) on Monday.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday inaugurated a non-beta-lactam injection plant at the Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (KSDP).
Mr. Vijayan also laid the foundation stone for the construction of an Oncology Pharma Park at the KSDP in a virtual ceremony.

A new super specialty block at the Ernakulam General Hospital was inaugurated by Health Minister K.K. Shylaja on Sunday. The block was constructed at a cost of ₹57.95 crore and was funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB). The Bhabhatron telecobalt unit for radiotherapy at the hospital was upgraded at a cost of ₹1.10 crore with help from the Rotary Club of Cochin. The existing microbiology lab was renovated at a cost of ₹21 lakh and the skills lab was upgraded. The super specialty block will house departments including cardiology, cardio-thoracic wing, neurology, neurosurgery, and paediatric surgery. A kiosk was also inaugurated at the General Hospital for the Karunya health scheme.

Kerala Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran on Saturday said these projects at an overall cost of Rs 233.72 crores are a key ingredient of Kerala Tourism s aggressive campaign to promote the Malabar region and has immense potential to put Kannur on the world tourism map.

Two floods in successive years and then the pandemic have severely impacted the ₹150-crore freshwater lake project at Paroppady in Kozhikode.
However, administrators are sanguine about the prospects of the project, as things are crawling back to normal. “Yes, floods hit first, then COVID. But, the project is back on track,” said Kozhikode North Legislator A. Pradeep Kumar, who has taken up the initiative with the State government.
