The facility was inaugurated at the hill station on Sunday by Dean Kuriakose, MP. P.A. Balan, chairman of Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, presided at the brief function organised in keeping with the COVID-19 protocol. After the inauguration of the facility, the training centre was named after Kurien to mark his 100th birth anniversary celebrations, said an ERCMPU spokesperson.

Milma recommends Kerala govt to include skimmed milk powder, ghee in free ration kit ANI | Updated: Jan 06, 2021 19:12 IST Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], January 6 (ANI): The Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (Milma) has recommended the Kerala government to include 200gm milk-powder and 100gm ghee in the free kit being distributed through the state s ration shops amid the COVID-19 pandemic. For distributing 200gm Skimmed Milk Powder and 100gm ghee through every kit, Milma propose to use the excess procurement of milk. Milma said that the Malabar Regional Milk Unions procures an average of 1.25 lakh litres of excess milk per day. Now Ernakulam Regional Milk Union is procuring enough milk for their own use. Thiruvananthapuram Regional Milk Union is balancing the short fall of milk by channeling the excess milk procured from Malabar Regional Union.

Milma to increase subsidy on cattle feed Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA In an effort to help dairy farmers amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Milma) has decided to increase the subsidy on cattle feed to ₹70 per bag. A decision to this effect was taken by the Milma director board on Tuesday. Milma has been providing a subsidy of ₹40 per 50-kg bag. The revised subsidy rates, which would be applicable from January 1, would be available for all cattle-feed brands, Milma Chairman P. A. Balan said. The step would lessen the financial difficulties faced by the dairy farmers in the State during the pandemic.
