Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, on Monday, wrote to the Centre seeking an additional supply of 50 lakh COVID-19 vaccines. In a letter to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Vijayan said that the state had stocks that could last only for three days. Vijayan said that the shortage has been brought to the notice of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by the Chief Secretary, as well as Principal Secretary, Health.
The poll panel issued a detailed press note for "conduct of biennial election to the council of states from Kerala to fill the seats of members retiring on April 21".

New Delhi [India], April 12 (ANI): Amid shortages of vaccines, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday requested the Union Health Ministry to provide 50 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the state in a couple of days.
In a letter to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Vijayan said, So far the State has received 56,84,360 doses of COVID-19 vaccine including 54,40,740 of Covishield and 2,43,620 of Covaxin and we have administered 48,24,505 doses till April 11, 2021. The stock which is left with us is sufficient for conducting vaccination for the next three days only.

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission (EC) on Monday declared that polls to the three Rajya Sabha seats from Kerala falling vacant later this month will be held on April 30.
The poll panel issued a detailed press note for conduct of biennial election to the council of states from Kerala to fill the seats of members retiring on April 21 .
Those retiring from these seats include Abdul Wahab (IUML), K K Ragesh (CPI M) and Vayalar Ravi (Congress).
The EC said notification for the polls will be issued on Tuesday and polling will be held between 9 am and 4 pm on April 30. The votes will be counted on the same day.
