Thiruvananthapuram, May 14 : Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday said with the test positivity rate (TPR) in the state continuing to be high, it has been decided to extend the present lockdown till May 23, while four districts Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malappuram will come under a triple lockdown .
He said the effects of the lockdown will take some more time for the effects to be visible, and called on everyone to cooperate as it is for the common good.
Why not a virtual Kerala swearing-in?
Pinarayi Vijayan can set an example, and thereby create history again, by exploring the options for a virtual ceremony.

New Delhi [India], May 13 (ANI): In view of the cyclone building up over the Arabian Sea, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) issued an advisory to the Fisheries Department to warn the fishermen not to proceed to sea and also to return to the nearest harbour, said officials.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure area is forming over the Arabian Sea and that it may gradually turn into a cyclone over the east-central Arabian Sea by May 16. The cyclone is likely to impact areas including the coast of Kerala, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Goa and Maharashtra.

Ruyat-e-Hilal Committee, Imarat-e-Sharaiyah-Hind, after its meeting, announced that moon sighting was not reported from Delhi or any other part of the country, its secretary Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi said.
