Law enforcement authorities in Billings and Gallatin County are investigating a possible link between the deaths of three people, including a Billings woman found dead inside a home.

(UPDATE, 8:30 PM ) Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks spokesperson Morgan Jacobsen confirms that one person (gender unknown at this time), a West Yellowstone resident, was injured and taken to an Idaho Falls hospital with âsevere injuries.â
Investigators have not yet been able to talk with the victim, and are yet to get more details.

The violent encounter happened Thursday afternoon in an area of timber near Bakers Hole Campground in the Custer Gallatin National Forest
The victim, a West Yellowstone resident, was able to call 911 following the mauling at about 3.45pm.
He was located after an off-trail search of about 50 minutes and taken by toboggan and snowmobile to an ambulance
Victim was transported by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls
Investigators have been unable to interview the victim because of injuries that included significant scalp and facial wounds

WEST YELLOWSTONE A person is recovering at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after being attacked by a grizzly bear Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to an area near Bakers Hole Campground around 3:45 p.m., according to a Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office news release. They searched for 50 minutes before finding the injured person, who had significant scalp and facial injuries.
Gallatin County Sheriff Search & Rescue were called to respond on snowmobile with a rescue toboggan. The victim was loaded onto the toboggan and taken to a nearby ambulance. Hebgen Basin Fire Department EMS crews then drove the patient to EIRMC.
