Kalamazoo County Prosecutor Jeffrey Getting and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel . made the announcement in the case of 39-year-old William Darnell Johnson of Kalamazoo Friday.
Johnson was charged with a series of sexual assaults on young women that started in 2001. The initial assault was reported immediately but the case was closed by police within a few weeks when the attacker could not be identified. However, in 2004, DNA evidence collected from the victim in the 2001 case matched the defendantâs DNA profile in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). Despite this information, the victim was never notified and the investigation was not

KALAMAZO, MI The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is asking for tips that will lead to the arrest of a man wanted on charges of felony murder and 1st-degree child abuse, police said in a news release.
Police issued an alert on Dec. 31, naming a suspect in the death of his stepson, 6-year-old Jaylen Worthington, police said. The Kalamazoo Gazette has not named the man at this time because he has not been arraigned on criminal charges.
“We want to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jaylen Worthington, who passed away due to complications from trauma on Dec. 23,” KDPS Captain Craig Habel said in a Dec. 31 news release.

âWe want to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jaylen Worthington, who passed away due to complications from trauma on Dec. 23,â KDPS Captain Craig Habel said. âWe are asking the community to help us locate Latravion Heard McMillon so he can be prosecuted for committing this heinous crime.â

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s help in locating a Kalamazoo man who is wanted in the death of his six-year-old stepson.
Latravion Heard McMillon faces charges of felony murder and first degree child abuse.
KDPS Captain Craig Habel says Jaylen Worthington died December 23 due to complications from trauma.
On December 14, Worthington was admitted to Bronson Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Detectives were called to the hospital and began conducting an investigation. The investigation found the childâs injuries were a result of child abuse.
