KALAMAZOO, Mich. â The eastbound lane on West Main Street at Thompson Street has reopened following a crash there, according to the Kalamazoo County Central Dispatch Authority.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says a 24-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree before rolling the car over.
Weâre told the driver sustained serious injuries in the crash and was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital.
The crash is currently under investigation.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. â Family is grieving the loss of 6-year-old Jaylen Worthington from Kalamazoo.
Jaylen was first admitted to the hospital December 14th with extensive injuries. Family says that he had broken ribs, a punctured lung and trauma to his head.
Doctors later pronounced him brain dead, according to relatives. Jaylen died on December 23rd.

KALAMAZO, MI The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is asking for tips that will lead to the arrest of a man wanted on charges of felony murder and 1st-degree child abuse, police said in a news release.
Police issued an alert on Dec. 31, naming a suspect in the death of his stepson, 6-year-old Jaylen Worthington, police said. The Kalamazoo Gazette has not named the man at this time because he has not been arraigned on criminal charges.
“We want to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Jaylen Worthington, who passed away due to complications from trauma on Dec. 23,” KDPS Captain Craig Habel said in a Dec. 31 news release.

On December 14, Worthington was admitted to Bronson Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Detectives were called to the hospital and began conducting an investigation. The investigation found the childâs injuries were a result of child abuse.
