KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Kalamazoo Mayor David Anderson is responding to a recent study that declared Kalamazoo as the “coolest” place to live with the lowest cost of living in the United States.
Last week, the findings of a study released by PureWow were released, which listed the top ten cities in that category.
To figure out the âcoolnessâ factor, available activities such as those related to food and the arts were considered.
The organization made the following statement on placing Kalamazoo at the top:

Kalamazoo mayor tests positive for COVID-19

KALAMAZOO, Mich. â Kalamazoo Mayor David Anderson has tested positive for COVID-19, the city announced Tuesday.
Anderson says heâs experiencing mild symptoms and will be self-isolating until medical professionals clear him to leave quarantine and return to work.
âLet this serve as a reminder to everyone in our community that COVID-19 is real, and we must all do our part to keep our community safe,â Anderson said. âItâs critical we reduce our risk by following guidance from the CDC and the Kalamazoo County Health Department, which includes practicing social distancing, avoiding large gatherings and wearing masks when in public. I also encourage residents to be vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available.â
