I m not sure that the Spring Game ever used to be good. I attended every one of the events that I could, starting back as a freshman in college back in 2003 and going until I left Columbus several years later (and then went back to going to them once I moved back up here), but I don t know that I ve ever enjoyed them as a game of football. They ve been fun for other reasons; people watching, seeing players in pads for the first time in months, being in Ohio Stadium, etc. But as football? Eh. But this year felt a little different, and Andy and I talk about all of the ways that this edition of the Spring Game was illuminating for us as fans and as commentators on the game in general. The quarterback competition got a little more interesting, the receiver room confirmed its depth, and hell, maybe the defense won t be so bad.
