Green light for major extension to Headford school
Presentation College Headford has been approved for a large-scale capital programme.
It involves the demolition and refurbishment of existing buildings and a new school extension.
When completed, the school will be able to cater for more of 1000 students.
Local Fianna Fail councillor Mary Hoade is the Chair of the Board of Management of the school and she spoke to Midwest News about the welcome news for Headford.

Sinn Fein call for review into cost of Direct Provision Centres
Sinn Féin s calling for a review into the cost of direct-provision centres, after its been revealed today that the fees paid to such centres rose to 175 million euro last year.
The money was paid by government to private firms for running nearly 50 centres for asylum-seekers and refugees.
It s a 36 per cent increase on 2019, when the state paid out 129 million euro.
Sinn Féin s justice spokesman, Sligo/ Leitrim deputy Martin Kenny, says the costs are very concerning.
