Details about the return of the Summertime By George summer concert series in St. Cloud are beginning to emerge. The music will be back for a 10th season after a pandemic pause in 2020.
On Thursday, the Rotary Club of St. Cloud announced that Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks will open the free weekly concert series at Lake George from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 23.
The concerts will take place weekly through Sept. 1. The full lineup of bands is expected May 25.
Under state COVID-19 guidelines, masks will be required for the June 23 and June 30 concerts, unless the mask mandate for large events is removed before those dates.

Chester Coborn started selling produce in a little store on Benton Drive and began what we now know as Coborn s Incorporated.

Dennis Host says the original location was just down the street from where it is today, but the store was actually in several locations in downtown Sauk Rapids during the early years.
So it started in 1921 down on Benton Drive, then they moved in 1925 and again in 1930 as it got bigger. Then the original larger store on the corner of Benton Drive, which is today s parking lot that was built in 1974 and they moved into the current Marketplace building in 1993.
