SUDBURY Sudbury police say officers found shell casings and seized a gun from a Hanmer home after reports of shots fired caused a school to be evacuated Thursday. Kaitlyn Dunn, corporate communications coordinator for Greater Sudbury Police Service, said the call came in at 2:20 p.m. Police descended upon the area of St. Michel Street, Cote Boulevard and Capreol Road and despite saying there was no immediate threat to the school, students and children at the daycare located at St. Anne were sent home. The incident was first reported to the public on Twitter at 3:46 p.m. HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE - ST MICHEL ST/COTE BV/CAPREOL RD - Officers on scene after reports of possible gun shots. Officers assisting staff & guardians w getting students on buses & into vehicles. No immediate threat to school. Officers have shut down Capreol Rd from Cote to MR84
