Kongsberg Digital (KDI) and The Nautical Institute are pleased to announce an approved remote simulation solution for Dynamic Positioning (DP) Induction Courses. This has been developed by KDI to support training centers worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, and has now been approved by The Nautical Institute.
Since the start of the pandemic, KONGSBERG has been ramping up the delivery of cloud-based eLearning and remote training solutions to support education and training institutes and meet the challenges imposed by the impossibility of carrying out tuition in a physical classroom situation. Thome Group launches new Navigation Bridge Simulator
The Thome Group recognises the importance of its seafarers keeping pace with the rapidly changing technology onboard today’s modern vessels which is why it has recently invested in the installation of a new Full Mission Navigation Bridge Simulator with a 320⁰ view.
The new system was formally opened, following all relevant COVID-19 protocols, on 20th January 2021 at the TSM Building, Makati City, in the Philippines.

Morten Hasås joins Kongsberg Digital as SVP for Maritime Simulation
On January 1st, 2021, Morten Hasås will join Kongsberg Digital as Senior Vice President for Maritime Simulation. Previously CEO of Scantech Industries, Morten has held top management positions at ScanSense, Scanmar and Kongsberg Maritime.
His extensive experience in the maritime industry extends over more than three decades, which teamed with his international background will serve to strengthen the Maritime Simulation branch of Kongsberg Digital’s operations.
