Even though Lilly Singh s NBC talk show is coming to an end after two seasons, the Canadian YouTuber has a lot to look forward to including her upcoming comedy project with Netflix.
Singh took to her Instagram on Thursday to share a lengthy post explaining her wild journey of late-night television and her show A Little Late With Lilly Singh. Two years ago, I embarked on the wild journey of late night TV. I knew this show was about more than me, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity and support, the 32-year-old comedian wrote in the post. Today, I write to you from a similar place of deep gratitude to share some news.
Her show replaced
Last Call, which debuted in 2002 and had been hosted by Carson Daly.
“I have a desire to make longer form content telling underrepresented stories, which is difficult to execute on a nightly show,” Singh said in a statement.

The Hollywood Reporter, Singh is developing a comedy series at Netflix, with
Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, and has signed a first-look producing deal with NBCUniversal’s Universal Television Alternative Studio.
“I’m excited to take this next step in my relationship with NBCUniversal and launch a new partnership between my company Unicorn Island Productions and Universal Television Alternative Studio,” Singh said in a statement. “This is a career step that I could only dream of when I started out as a creator, and I look forward to working alongside their team to create projects that bring underrepresented voices to the forefront.”

In a move that underscores late-night TVâs longstanding lack of female hosts, NBCâs âA Little Late with Lilly Singhâ is coming to an end after only two seasons.
A Canadian-born comedian who is the daughter of Indian immigrants, Singh is the only woman currently hosting a late-night show on one of the traditional broadcast networks. She was the first bisexual woman of color to headline a late-night show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
