LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. (AP) A forest fire that has consumed roughly 900 acres in southern New Jersey continued to burn Monday, though no injuries have been reported.
The fire was spotted around 4 p.m. Sunday in the Bass River State Forest in Little Egg Harbor Township, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. Agency officials said the blaze is burning inside a large area in Burlington and Ocean counties that has limited accessibility.
Dozens of firefighters were battling the blaze, and crews were setting smaller, controlled fires in some areas to help stop the blaze from spreading.

By Alta Spells and Lechelle Benken, CNN (CNN) An out-of-control wildfire has scorched about 900 acres and is threatening buildings near Little Egg Harbor Township, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said.
The inferno was getting dangerously close to about 100 structures near the coastal township north of Atlantic City, the fire service posted on Facebook late Sunday.
Voluntary evacuations have been announced, and Pinelands Middle School is being used as a shelter, the post said.
As of Sunday night, the blaze was 0% contained, Fire Warden Rob Gill told CNN affiliate WPVI. Its cause is under investigation, he said.

Firefighter crews are continuing to tackle a huge 900-acre wildfire that has raged through the night in southern New Jersey.
The blaze was first sighted near the Bass State Forest in Little Egg Harbor Township at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service (NJFFS) said.
A spokesperson for the NJFFS said the fire had burned a large area in Burlington and Ocean counties that have limited accessibility.

The Associated Press added that dozens of firefighters had raced to the scenes to battle the larger blaze while others worked to set controlled fires in order to stop the inferno from spreading further.
