Flagler Health+ makes Pfizer vaccine available to all over the age of 16 on April 23

6 hours ago Share by: Julie Murphy Flagler County Public Information Officer Flagler Health+ (formerly Flagler Hospital) is bringing the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination to Flagler County for a one-time opportunity for anyone at least 16 years old to be vaccinated on April 23. Appointments are required, as is a return visit for a second dose on May 14. “The main difference between the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and the Moderna vaccine that has been offered in our community since December is that residents aged 16 years old, and older, are eligible to receive this vaccine,” said County Administrator Jerry Cameron. “It is very generous of Flagler Health(+) to provide this service to its neighboring county to the south.”

Flagler Health+ of St. Johns County will be hosting a vaccine event in Flagler County on April 23 at the county s Government Services Building in Bunnell, according to a Flagler County press release.  The healthcare system, which operates Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, will be providing Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines to anyone at least 16 years old, according to the release. The number of available vaccines was not provided.  Appointments are required and can be made online at FlaglerCounty.org/COVID. Appointments for the second dose of the vaccine to be administered on May 14 will be booked at the same time as the initial appointment. 

Flagler Health Department scales back free COVID testing

Free drive through COVID-19 testing will be offered 1-3 p.m. Tuesday and Friday, across from 120 Airport Road. No appointments are necessary, and test results are available in 2-3 days. DOH-Flagler is likely to reduce the amount of COVID-19 testing it offers when multiple vaccination events are scheduled during that week.  Other locations in Flagler County providing COVID-19 testing include two Mediquick locations, CentraCare, Palm Harbor Family Practice and CVS Pharmacies. Please confirm with each site in advance as some require appointments.

This training will be conducted using online and in-person sessions. Flagler County Emergency Management, Flagler County Fire Rescue, and Flagler Volunteer Services invite residents to sign up for the no-cost, 24-hour program that will be offered in a manner that supports social distancing. Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord describes the program as an important partnership between the community and professional first responders.
