Gorakhpur: A seminar on ‘Development of Readymade Garment Industry and its prospects in Purvanchal’ will be organized on Tuesday from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. It is being held under the joint aegis of Gorakhpur Chamber of Industries and Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), informed Pravin Modi, secretary of Gorakhpur Chamber of Industries.
“The seminar will take place at Udyog Bhawan. It can also be viewed online through the link available on the official website of GIDA,” said GIDA CEO Sanjeev Ranjan.
“The state government is establishing a textile park, and also a readymade garment park in Gorakhpur. As many as 150 people have already contacted us, demanding a readymade garment industry at GIDA. The seminar will be prove to be beneficial for the interested people,” said Pravin Modi.
LUCKNOW: The state government said on Sunday that it has issued guidelines for the supply of piped natural gas (PNG) to industrial development authorities with the objective of environmental conservation and providing safe fuel to industries.
The government said steps were being taken to convert major highways of the state into green energy corridors to promote the use of pollutionfree fuel in transport sector.
“Industrial development authorities have been directed to facilitate authorized gas companies for laying of pipelines for network of natural gas in areas of state’s industrial development authorities,” industry minister Satish Mahana said.

Gorakhpur: As ready-made garment has been included as the second alternative for one district one product (ODOP), Gorakhpur chamber of industries has demanded the establishment of a garment park in the district.
The chairman of Gorakhpur Chamber of Industries, Vishnu Ajit Saria, and former chairman SK Agarwal met Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) CEO Sanjeev Rajan, and suggested him to allocate 50 acres of land in Bheeti Rawat area to build a garment park. Saria and Agarwal said the park would attract many industrialists from other places to Gorakhpur.
“The chamber of industries has sought the construction of a garment park, and we strive to fulfil their demand in the days to come. I have asked the officials of the chamber of industries to provide the list of garment industrialists, and the details about the requirement of land,” said GIDA CEO.
