Researchers set new record in conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells Lim Chang-won Reporter(cwlim34@ajunews.com) | Posted : April 6, 2021, 09:57 | Updated : April 6, 2021, 10:21 프린트 [Courtesy of UNIST] SEOUL A team of researchers based in South Korea and Switzerland set a new record of 25.6 percent in the power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells by introducing an anion engineering concept that uses pseudo-halide anion formate to suppress anion-vacancy defects and augment crystallinity. A perovskite solar cell includes a perovskite structured compound as the light-harvesting active layer. The high absorption coefficient of perovskite solar cells enables ultrathin films to absorb the complete visible solar spectrum, leading to the creation of low-cost, efficient, thin and flexible solar modules.
