Boil order lifted for Sixth Street and Hutchins Avenue
The boil water advisory has been lifted as of 9 a.m. Thursday.
Customers who have provided phone numbers to the utility will receive robocalls. All customers affected will receive a door hanger.

Utilities board approves agreement for regional capacity plan
Columbus City Utilities is looking into potential sewer improvements for the northwest section of its service area.
On Dec. 17, the utility service board approved a professional services agreement with Strand Associates for a regional capacity plan. Utilities executive director Scott Dompke said the agreement is not to exceed $30,000, which will be paid out of the 2021 wastewater utility budget.
He told the Republic that the plan will focus on the “northwest segment of the sewer service area.”
“We would like to see if there’s a way for us to reduce the number of lift stations and by consolidating and installing some gravity sewer extensions,” Dompke said at the Dec. 17 board meeting.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus City Utilities issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the vicinity of Sixth Street and Hutchins Avenue at 5 p.m. on Monday. The advisory is in place due to a shutdown associated with a water main break in the area.
Residents are asked to boil cooking and drinking water for five minutes before consuming.

Columbus City Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for customers in the area of Sixth Street and Hutchins Avenue.
Customers are asked to boil cooking and drinking water for 5 minutes until notified that the water has passed laboratory testing. The boil water advisory is now in effect and customers will be notified when the order is lifted.
Customers who have provided phone numbers to the Utility will receive robocalls. All customers affected will receive a door hanger notice prior to, and upon completion of the testing.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus City Utilities lifted the boil water advisory for customers in the area on Timbercrest Drive on Sunday afternoon.
The advisory was originally put in place on Friday, December 18, due to a shutdown associated with a water main break.
