NEWBURN, Ind. – A possible domestic disturbance at the Elkland Hills Mobile Home Park, near Newbern, was reported to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) on Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m.
When they arrived, deputies say a female with visible injuries, told them she had been physically assaulted for the past 24 hours and her kids were present at the time.
The victim alleges that while outside of the residence, Phillip Ramsey, 41, of Columbus, pushed her head onto the concrete causing her to lose consciousness. She was checked at the scene by Columbus Regional Health EMS.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene, running from the mobile home park into a wooded area. A short time later, BCSO witnessed Ramsey walking on the north side of the mobile home park. He again tried to flee from deputies but he was found hiding in a shed and was then arrested without further incident.
