On the move: Former Rep-Am reporter returns to Columbia University

April 25, 2021 Anusha Shrivastava Anusha Shrivastava, a former business reporter at the Republican-American, has been named the new director of alumni relations at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. A 2002 master’s degree recipient at the school, Shrivastava is a veteran journalist with more than 20 years as a business reporter for TV and print in the U.S., Canada and India. Besides the Republican-American, she has worked for The Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones in New York City, BBC World’s India Business Report in New Delhi, The Globe and Mail in Toronto, the Associated Press and Hartford Business Journal. At the Wall Street Journal, she covered credit markets and global foreign exchanges and won five Dow Jones awards for breaking news on the financial meltdown during the credit crisis.

Its director, Chloé Zhao, won Best Director, becoming the first woman of color and the second woman ever to win that award. Frances McDormand won Best Actress, her third such Oscar.
